about
Golden Days is a nod to the cultural shift that happens to each generation when youth become adults and adults grow older.
Written in the perspective of an ageing person reminiscing on their ‘Golden Days’ - when the world looked more colourful through their youthful eyes.
As time progresses their views are seen as outdated and conservative, and with resentment they ponder on how it changed realising that they aren’t any different to the outdated views their elders had.
One day you’re with it, and the next you’re not.
lyrics
I miss the feeling that I get,
That I didn’t think of yet,
Know that everything was cruel,
Laid down in 1s and 2s
While you chomp on your curly fries,
With you big eyes I’m not surprised,
Peel off my flaccid skin why though,
Where do I begin,
Crazy.
Memories are set in stone,
Breeze never blew too far from home,
Grey coloured in the eyes,
Always a pale surprise,
I miss the Golden Days,
When the thoughts were my way,
Now the world has changed,
What I know is not okay.
You won’t miss a thing,
They won’t miss you.
